Willard Zebedee Estey, who will be appointed puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada in 1977, is born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Willard Estey is the son of James Wilfred Estey, who will become puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada in 1944.
1923
Justice Louis-Philippe Brodeur, puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada, resigns his place on the bench in order to succeed Sir Charles Fitzpatrick as Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec. He would serve as Lieutenant-Governor for less than 3 months, passing away January 2, 1924 at the age of 61.
