The Honourable John Robert Cartwright is appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada as a puisne judge. Justice Cartwright was a veteran of the First World War, and was awarded the Military Cross in 1917.
1949
The Honourable Joseph Honoré Gérald Fauteux is appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada as a puisne judge. During his time as puisne judge, Justice Fauteux was co-founder of the faculty of law at the University of Ottawa, and served as its dean from 1952 until 1962.
2008
The Honourable Thomas Albert Cromwell is appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada as a puisne judge.
