William Ian Corneil Binnie, who will be appointed puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada in 1998, is born in Montreal, Quebec.
1967
Frank Joseph Hughes, former puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada, dies at the age of 83.
1992
The Supreme Court of Canada renders judgment on the reference question concerning David Milgaard. The question of David Milgaard was one of only two occasions where the Supreme Court heard witness testimony.
