1952
Thomas Albert Cromwell, who will be appointed puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada in 2008, is born in Kingston, Ontario.
1959
The Honourable Roland Almon Ritchie is appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada as a puisne judge. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Ritchie acted as counsel to the royal commission on the terms of Newfoundland's union with Canada for 12 years.
