Charles Holland Locke, who will be appointed puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada in 1947, is born in Morden, Manitoba.

The Honourable Edmund Leslie Newcombe is appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada as a puisne judge.

The Right Honourable Francis Alexander Anglin is appointed Chief Justice of Canada. Justice Anglin is the first Chief Justice to be appointed from the province of New Brunswick.

1962

Charles Holland Locke retires as a puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada.
