Exchange with the Bâtonnière of the Barreau de Montréal

On Tuesday, the Chief Justice had the pleasure of participating in the Grand entretien hosted by the Bâtonnière of the Bar of Montréal, Ms. Caroline Larouche, with his colleagues, Justices Suzanne Côté and Nicholas Kasirer. They discussed the Supreme Court of Canada’s 150th anniversary and shared their reflections on its impact within Canadian society. The discussion also touched on the challenges facing the justice system and the importance of remaining vigilant to protect judicial independence and the rule of law.
