Chief Justice Wagner, Justice Kasirer and Justice Moreau recently participated in a judicial exchange with the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic in Brno, marking the first ever bilateral meeting between the highest courts of our 2 countries. The exchange provided an opportunity for thoughtful dialogue on topics including communication with the public and the media, judicial independence, freedom of expression and legal issues relating to sexual offences.

Chief Justice Wagner also delivered a keynote address at the CEELI Institute’s 2026 Rule of Law Symposium in Prague, held on the occasion of the Institute’s 25th anniversary.

Prior to the judicial exchange, Chief Justice Wagner was invited to attend the annual conference of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union in Limassol, Cyprus, where he was the only participant from outside Europe. There, he delivered remarks about the challenges to the rule of law.

These activities reflect the Court’s ongoing commitment to international dialogue and to the protection of the rule of law.
